Welfare and Public Interest
The most important factor about public interest is its concept. By looking at its definition we can divide it into two simple parts; one is the general welfare of the public. And it is something in which the public as a whole has a stake. It also covers specially the interests that justifies government regulation. According to another legal dictionary public interest is that which is best for society as a whole. But it is a subjective determination by a judge for what is for the generally better for everyone. It means when a legal body states “in public interest”, it should consider the general interest of all citizens.
